Chronic disease takes 5 to 7 years to land in the body. It begins in thought, in belief, in the emotional weather of a life — and only then arrives at the plate. Five volumes from Dr. Stephanie Jupiter, DPM, tracing the journey back.
In 30 years of podiatric practice, I have had the privilege of meeting chronic disease where it lands — in the feet. Patients arrive for a wound, a numbness, a swelling, and we end up in a wholistic conversation about health, healing, and wellness. The foot is the doorway. The conversation is the medicine.
We forget that disease is patient. It rehearses for years in our thought process, our belief system, our communication, our emotional body — long before it shows up in a lab result. Our emotional state shapes our appetite, our cravings, our food decisions. To get to the root, we must address what we do not see with the physical eye.
"From farm to table is not a journey from soil to plate. It is a journey from soul to plate."

The inner farm.
Chronic disease does not arrive overnight. It takes a minimum of 5 to 7 years — beginning in thought, belief, and the words we speak over ourselves. Volume I is the soil work: the emotional and spiritual ground beneath every plate.

Cravings have a history.
Our emotional state impacts our appetite, our cravings, our food decisions. Volume II names the seed before it becomes the harvest — grief that asks for sugar, loneliness that asks for salt, fear that asks for speed.

The gut, the foot, the terrain.
As a podiatric physician of 30 years, I have watched chronic disease land in the feet — the body's most overlooked geography. Volume III is the clinical bridge: how inflammation, glucose, and stress travel from gut to ground.

Recipes by condition.
Farm to table, finally on the plate. Volume IV organizes recipes by chronic condition — diabetes, hypertension, autoimmune, inflammation — with the cultural soul of New Orleans, the Caribbean, and the diaspora intact.

The ritual of eating.
The last volume is not about food. It is about how we gather, bless, slow down, and remember. The plate is the altar; the meal is the medicine; the table is the church.
Every recipe in the series begins where these photos do — in her own kitchen, her own garden, her own plate. Farm to table is not an aesthetic. It is a discipline.

Bitter melon, okra, basil, parsley, scallions — straight from the garden basket to the cutting board.

Eggplant, okra, kale, onion — a one-pan anti-inflammatory plate. Color is the prescription.

Jamaican callaloo spinach, just-picked — iron, folate, and the medicine of growing your own.

Fettuccine going in — even the comfort foods earn their place at a Peaceology table.
The first volume — Roots — releases through the Soul Butterfly Wellness Lifestyle Membership. Members receive the digital edition, a printed recipe card set, and an invitation to the live cooking broadcast from The BOOM-BOX Studio.
